**Facebook integration** · Page photo & video posts

# Automatic Facebook Page posts from your Shopify catalog

AutoPost publishes product photos and videos to the Facebook Pages you manage, with copy built from your catalog and a link back to the product — on a schedule instead of on a whim.

- ****Pages**** — pick which Page to publish to

- ****Photo + video**** — both post types

- ****2,200**** — characters of caption

- ****Link**** — straight to the product page

Post types

## What AutoPost publishes here

The post type follows the media on your product, so you do not have to choose per post.

| Type | Built from | Good for |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **Photo post** | A single product image | Everyday catalog posts and announcements |
| **Video post** | A product video | Demonstrations and richer product stories |
| **Product link in copy** | The `{PRODUCT_URL}` variable | Sending Page visitors directly to the product |

Permissions

## Which permissions we request, and why

These are the scopes the authorisation screen will show you. AutoPost asks for nothing beyond them.

| Scope | What it allows | Why AutoPost needs it |
| --- | --- | --- |
| **`pages_manage_posts`** | Create and manage posts on Pages you administer. | The core function: publishing the scheduled photo or video post to your Page. |
| **`pages_read_engagement`** | Read a Page's own content and engagement data. | To confirm a post was created and to display its state back in the app. |
| **`pages_show_list`** | List the Pages you manage. | So you can choose which Page an automation publishes to, instead of guessing. |
| **`business_management`** | Read the Business Manager assets your account has access to. | To resolve Pages that are owned by a Business Manager rather than by a personal profile. |

### Requirements and limits

- **Account type**: A Facebook Page you administer
- **Page selection**: Chosen in the app; switchable at any time
- **Caption**: Up to 2,200 characters
- **Media**: Product images and video from your Shopify gallery
- **Business Manager**: Supported, including Pages owned by a business

### Worth knowing

- A Page, not a personal profile: platform rules do not allow API publishing to personal timelines
- If a Page is missing from the list, refresh it in the app — newly created Pages take a moment to appear
- Facebook can temporarily block posting after policy violations; the app surfaces that message rather than silently retrying
- Facebook audiences skew towards longer copy than TikTok — consider a separate template

Setup

## Connecting takes about two minutes

### Open Accounts in AutoPost

Go to **Accounts** in the app and find the Facebook card.

### Click Connect and authorise

Log in on the platform's own screen and approve the permissions listed above.

### Choose the Page

AutoPost lists the Pages you manage. Pick the one this store should publish to; you can change it later or refresh the list if you add a Page.

### Add Facebook to an automation

Tick **Facebook** in an automation's publishing targets, pick a template and a schedule.

### Watch the first posts

Statuses and any platform errors appear on the **Posts** page — including the rarer policy-related rejections, explained in plain language.

Questions

## About this integration

**Can I publish to several Pages?**

You choose the Page per connection. If you manage several Pages for the same store, connect and target them through separate automations.

**Why does AutoPost need business_management?**

Many Pages are owned by a Business Manager rather than by a personal profile. Without that scope the app cannot resolve those Pages, and your Page would simply not appear in the list.

**Does AutoPost read my Page messages or ads?**

No. It reads the list of Pages you manage and the engagement state of its own posts. Inbox, ad accounts and audience data are not requested and not accessed.

**What if a post is rejected for policy reasons?**

The post is marked failed and the message the platform returned is shown. Facebook occasionally blocks posting temporarily; in that case the fix is to wait rather than to retry immediately.

**Data and controls**

AutoPost stores the encrypted authorisation tokens, the account identifier and the profile details shown in the app, plus the posts you scheduled and their results. Disconnect the account in AutoPost, or revoke access on the platform, and the tokens are deleted. See the [Privacy Policy](https://autopostbyamasty.com/privacy.html) and [data deletion](https://autopostbyamasty.com/data-deletion.html) pages.
