Data deletion and disconnecting accounts
Three ways to stop AutoPost from processing your data, and exactly what each one removes.
1. Disconnect a single social account
Open AutoPost in your Shopify admin, go to Accounts, and click Disconnect on the network you want to remove.
- The stored access and refresh tokens for that account are deleted immediately.
- Publishing to that network stops at once, including anything already queued for it.
- The profile details shown in the app for that connection are removed.
- Your templates, automations and post history stay, so you can reconnect later without rebuilding anything.
You can also revoke AutoPost's access from the platform's own settings — every network has a page listing the apps it has authorised. The app then loses the ability to publish and flags the connection as disconnected.
2. Uninstall the app
Uninstall AutoPost from Settings → Apps and sales channels in your Shopify admin.
- All publishing stops immediately and the Shopify access token becomes invalid.
- Your subscription is cancelled by Shopify; no further charges are made.
- Configuration and post history are retained for a limited grace period so that a reinstall restores your setup, then deleted.
- Send us a deletion request (below) if you want everything removed straight away instead of waiting out the grace period.
3. Request full deletion
Email help-center@amasty.com from the address associated with your store, with the subject Data deletion request, and include:
- your Shopify store domain (for example
your-store.myshopify.com); - whether you want everything deleted, or only the data of a specific connected network;
- confirmation that you are authorised to make the request for that store.
We confirm receipt, verify that the request comes from the store owner or an authorised staff member, and complete the deletion within 30 days — usually much sooner. We will tell you when it is done. Records we must keep by law, such as billing and accounting entries, are retained for the statutory period and nothing else.
Deletion requests through Shopify
AutoPost implements Shopify's mandatory compliance webhooks, so requests raised through Shopify are handled automatically:
| Webhook | What happens |
|---|---|
customers/data_request | We compile whatever data we hold relating to the customer named in the request and return it to you through the channel Shopify specifies. |
customers/redact | Any data we hold about that customer is deleted or irreversibly anonymised. |
shop/redact | Sent by Shopify after the app has been uninstalled; we delete the store's data held in the app. |
What we keep, and for how long
See the retention section of the Privacy Policy for the full schedule. In short: social tokens go as soon as you disconnect; configuration and post history go on uninstall plus a short grace period, or immediately on request; technical logs rotate out on a short cycle; billing records are kept as long as accounting law requires.
Access, correction, portability, restriction and objection requests go to the same address: help-center@amasty.com. See your rights under the GDPR in the Privacy Policy.
