Getting started
What is AutoPost, in one sentence?
A Shopify app that turns your product catalog into scheduled social media posts — caption included, media included — and publishes them to TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest and X for you.
Do I need any technical skills?
No. You install the app from the Shopify App Store, authorise your social accounts with a click, pick a template and set a schedule. Everything happens in your Shopify admin.
How long does setup take?
Around ten minutes for the first automation, most of it spent deciding which products to promote and how often. Later automations take a minute or two.
Do I need to create content for social media?
No. AutoPost uses the product media that is already in your store. Templates and AI produce the text. If some products lack images, you can upload media in bulk from the app.
Can I try it before paying?
Yes. The Free plan publishes 5 posts a month with all features enabled, so you can see real posts on real accounts before choosing a paid plan. No credit card is needed.
Publishing and networks
Which networks are supported?
Instagram (professional accounts), TikTok, Facebook Pages, Pinterest business accounts and X (Twitter). Each one has its own page describing post types, permissions and limits — start from the integrations overview.
Does AutoPost publish directly, on every network?
Yes. Each network is connected through its official publishing API after you authorise it: the Instagram publishing API, the TikTok Content Posting API, the Facebook Pages API, the Pinterest pins API and the X posts API. There is no manual step and no browser automation involved.
What post formats can each network receive?
Instagram: images, videos, Reels and carousels. TikTok: video posts, photo posts and carousels of up to 35 images. Facebook: photo and video posts on a Page. Pinterest: image and video pins. X: a post with one image or video. AutoPost picks the format from the media on the product.
Why do caption limits differ between networks?
Because the platforms differ: 2,200 characters on Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, 800 on Pinterest and 280 on X. AutoPost enforces each limit before a post is queued, so a caption is never silently truncated after publishing.
Can one automation post to several networks?
Yes. Tick as many targets as you want. Each network's caption limit is validated separately, and each published post consumes one credit.
Why does Instagram require a professional account?
Because Instagram's publishing API is only available for business and creator accounts linked to a Facebook Page. That is a platform requirement, not an AutoPost limitation.
What if a post fails?
The post is marked failed and shows the reason the platform returned — for example an image above the size limit, an unsupported format, a video that is too long, a caption over the limit, duplicate content, or too many posts in a short window. Fix the cause and requeue it.
Can I edit a post before it goes out?
Yes. Everything scheduled is visible in the Posts list and the Calendar. Open any queued post to change the caption, replace the media or move it to a different time.
Will AutoPost flood my accounts?
No. Each plan has a daily cap (2, 5 or 10 posts a day) and each automation only publishes in the weekday and hour slots you allow.
Content and AI
How are captions generated?
A template defines the structure. Fixed text stays as you wrote it, product variables such as {PRODUCT_TITLE} or {PRODUCT_PRICE} are filled from the catalog, and an optional {AI_RESULT} block is written by an AI model using that product's data and the prompt you selected.
Can I write in a language other than English?
Yes. Templates accept any language, and AI generation can produce copy in the language you request — useful for stores selling in several markets.
Is my catalog used to train AI models?
No. Product data is sent to the AI provider only to generate the caption you asked for, and AutoPost does not use your catalog or captions to train models.
Can I stop using AI entirely?
Yes. Use templates without an {AI_RESULT} block and every caption will be exactly the text you wrote, with product variables filled in.
Does AutoPost use Shopify discounts in posts?
It can. Discount-aware templates insert the real discount value, the discount code or the “get” product of a Buy X Get Y offer, so a promo post matches what is actually configured in your store.
Data, privacy and security
What permissions does AutoPost request in Shopify?
Read access to products, files, orders and publications, plus write access to files. Products and files supply the content and media; publications let automations target a sales channel; order data supports usage statistics inside the app.
What does AutoPost store about my social accounts?
The access and refresh tokens (encrypted), the account identifier, and the display name, username and avatar shown in the app. Nothing else is read from your social accounts — the exact scopes per network are listed on each integration page.
Do you sell or share my data?
No. Data is not sold, rented or shared for advertising. It is processed only to run the service, and only with the sub-processors listed in the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete my data?
Disconnect accounts and uninstall the app to stop processing, then email help-center@amasty.com to request deletion of what is stored. Shopify's mandatory data-request and redaction webhooks are also implemented, so store and customer deletion requests coming from Shopify are honoured automatically. See Data deletion.
Is AutoPost affiliated with TikTok, Meta, Pinterest or X?
No. AutoPost is an independent app built by Amasty that uses each platform's public developer APIs. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Plans and support
How much does it cost?
Free for 5 posts a month, $9.99 a month for 150 posts, $15.99 a month for 300 posts. All plans include every feature; see pricing.
Can I change plan later?
Yes, up or down, at any time from inside the app. Billing changes are handled by Shopify.
How do I get help?
Email help-center@amasty.com or use the contact page. The user documentation covers each screen in detail, and our guides walk through common setups.
What happens to my automations if I uninstall?
Publishing stops immediately. Configuration is retained for a limited period in case you reinstall, and is deleted after that or on request — see the Privacy Policy for retention details.
